There is still room to join Welcome to the Table at our gathering in Windsor Terrace on Sunday, November 16th. This is an opportunity to learn about the vital work of Center for Family Life in Sunset Park.
Our support for the Center for Family Life has taken on new urgency as SNAP benefits are in jeopardy.
Center for Family Life in Sunset Park’s food pantry serves thousands of people each year. Last year they served 11,000 neighbors alone and have seen a 40% increase in need over the last three years. 23,000 people in Sunset Park receive SNAP benefits and they are facing longer pantry lines, and our stock is depleting at a much quicker rate. We need your help to meet this increased need. No amount is too small. Non-perishable food items brought brought to our event will be delivered to the food pantry.
About us
We are a group of Brooklyn community members who are raising funds to support and protect our immigrant neighbors. We believe that the United States has been strengthened economically, socially, and culturally by people from all over the world who have made America home. Grateful for the opportunities to build our lives here, we feel it is our responsibility to support our immigrant neighbors. We are welcoming people to our own tables as a way to help welcome others to the American table. We believe that “when you have more than you need, build a longer table not a higher fence.”
